Always one of the highlights of the Colombian soccer season, Millonarios and Santa Fe once again faced off to decide which team is the best of Bogota.
Things initially looked good for Millonarios, as Ricardo Ciciliano put his side in the lead after 37 minutes, but a foul from keeper Oscar Cordoba earned him a second yellow card in minute 70, after which Santa Fe’s Yovanny Arrechea found the target to level the score.
Although Millonarios were a man down for the last 20 minutes or so, the ‘Embassadors’ limited the damage and maintained the 1-1 result.
Medellin earned a 1-2 win at Quindio, and were once again inspired by season revelation Jackson Martinez. The striker opened the score after 32 minutes.
Carlos Rodas equalised three minutes after the hour, but Luis Mosquera restored DIM’s lead seven minutes later, 1-2.
On Friday, Deportivo Pasto and Atletico Huila held each other to a 1-1 draw. Huila took the lead with a goal from Gonzalo Martinez in the very first minutes, but Oscar Altamirano leveled the score at eight minutes from the end.
