A Colombian congressman demands one peso (= $0.000568) of the Colombian state to compensate losing his $12,500-a-month job for corruption.
German Olano has sued the Inspector General’s Office for COP 1 for damages that resulted from his dismissal and banishment from office, a mostly symbolic move to force the courts to re-evaluate his punishments.
Olano is the man identified by authorities on an incriminating tape in which he is heard discussing the fraudulent awarding of public works contracts and mentions the disgraced Moreno brothers in connection with commission payments.
The former congressman has really fallen on hard times and decided to add one more peso to his allegedly illicit income.
