Shakira’s ex faces love-rat claims

An Argentine woman goes public with allegations that Antonio de la Rua, the former partner of Shakira, cheated on the Colombian star for six years of their 11-year relationship.

Mariana Gallo told U.S. television program La Tijera that she and Antonio were childhood friends and became romantically involved in 2004. She claimed that their mothers are best friends, that she traveled with the couple, which was one of the reasons they broke up, and that she consoled him after the split.

Shakira and de la Rua announced their split in January

De la Rua, who is still Shakira’s manager and adviser, denies knowing Gallo.

The reason Gallo remained silent until now was to avoid “interfering with the business relationship that he [de la Rua] had with Shakira.”

Now that Shakira and FC Barcelona player Gerard Pique have confirmed their relationship, these revelations are a bit too late for any one to care.
