Shakira’s first world tour gig ‘flawless’ and ‘sizzling’

by Adriaan Alsema September 16, 2010

Colombia news - Shakira rocks

Shakira opened her world tour in the Canadian city of Montreal on Wednesday, with what the Montreal Gazette called a “flawless” performance.

On Shakira’s website the show is billed as the official opening of her world tour, the Canadians considered the concert “a sneak preview” of the U.S. tour starting on Friday in Uncasville, Conn.

The Gazette reported that photographers and press were not allowed to attend the show in case something went wrong, but that this caution was unnecessary.

“Shakira gave her audience a full-on, flawless show. From start to finish, the 33-year-old singer demonstrated the confidence, charisma and natural showmanship that have made her a world-class performer over the last 15 years.” the newspaper wrote.

Shakira and her eight-piece band kicked the show off with the 1995 “Pienso En Ti” and included a number of songs from the yet to be released “The Sun Comes Out” album.
