Shakira to judge on ‘The Voice’

Colombian superstar Shakira will replace Christina Aguilera as a judge on the famous TV singing talent show “The Voice,” U.S. television channel NBC announced on Monday.

The Grammy-winning Colombian singer and U.S. artist Usher will replace Christina Aguilera and rapper Cee Lo Green on the fourth season of The Voice.

“We are thrilled to welcome Shakira and Usher to The Voice,” said a spokesperson according to the Huffington Post.

“We knew we needed to find another great female talent in music and Shakira’s name came to mind immediately,” said the executive producer of the program.

The show airs for two seasons a year which means the judges are allowed to take time off to work on and promote their own music. Aguilera is going on tour to promote her new album while Green is said to be working on a comedy based on his own life.
