Shakira to appear in Ugly Betty

by Adriaan Alsema October 1, 2009

Colombia news - Shakira

Colombian pop icon Shakira will be appearing in a November episode of U.S. sitcom Ugly Betty, sources within ABC told People Magazine.

The sitcom, an interpretation of the successful Colombian sitcom Betty La Fea, will feature Shakira playing herself roughly one month after the official release of her new album, She Wolf, on October 13, the show’s creator, Silvio Horta, told the magazine.

“We have mentioned it a number of times and I have always wanted to work with her. She is a great latin icon, like Betty, and we think it would be the perfect union,” Horta said.

The show that features Shakira will be called ‘The Bahamas Triangle’ in which the Colombian singer will help Betty with make up needed for a photoshoot for ‘Mode’ magazine.

The fourth season Ugly Betty will start on October 9 on ABC.
