Shakira teams up with Beyonce, Lady Gaga for UN Humanitarian Day

Colombian sweetheart Shakira joined Beyonce and Lady Gaga for a good cause at the United Nations World Humanitarian Day on Sunday.

Shakira performed a humanitarian gesture on Sunday in the name of “do[ing] something good, somewhere, for someone else”, the slogan of the UN World Humanitarian Day. The singer didn’t announce what her gesture was.

Shakira teamed up with international pop stars such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Rihanna alongside one billion other people who all pledged their support for the Day.

The United Nation founded the World Humanitarian Day in order “to recognize those who face danger and adversity in order to help others.” The UN designated the day to coincide with the anniversary of the 2003 bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq, which killed 22 UN staff.
