Colombia’s most internationally prized pop sensation, Shakira, announced that she will be stepping down from her coaching position on America’s hit talent show “The Voice.”
After two seasons on the show, the pop princess is calling it quits in order to prepare for her upcoming world tour.
Shakira told American media this week that she had no plans of returning to television in the near future, but also stated, “one never knows.”
Commenting on her decision to leave “The Voice,” she told reporters, “Honestly, I’ve had a blast, but right now I have to go on with my life as an artist. I’m not really a TV celebrity, and I have to prep a tour and also do other stuff, like being a mother.”
The Barranquilla-born babe said that she would be going on tour “very soon” to promote her new self-titled album, “Shakira,” although she did not give any further details about the dates nor venues.
Apart from her upcoming tour, Shakira will also be performing at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil next month alongside Arab Idol winner, Mohamed Assaf.
