Shakira releases new Spanish single without Rihanna

Colombia pop star Shakira on Tuesday released the Spanish version of “Can’t Remember to Forget You” a month ahead of the launch of the English version featuring Rihanna.

The Spanish “Nunca Me Acuerdo de Olvidarte” was released on iTunes and launched on YouTube a week after Colombia’s most popular star in the US posted a preview of the duet with Rihanna on the video website.

The English version will be available for sale on March 25.

Shakira, born in the northern Colombian city of Barranquilla, has been active in music since the early 1990s and has released nine albums.
