The Barranquilla-born beauty will perform her new single “La La La (Brazil 2014)” in the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro during the closing ceremonies of the World Cup competition, Colombia’s El Espectador reported.

“I am very excited to sing my song “La La La (Brazil 2014″ in the closing ceremonies,” Shakira stated in the FIFA press release according to Barranquilla’s El Heraldo newspaper. “I have a close relationship with soccer for obvious reasons, and I know what this means for many people in the World Cup.”

Shakira’s new single has surpassed the popularity of the official FIFA World Cup anthem, “We Are One (Ole Ola),” performed by Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, and Claudia Leitte, according to the Billboard official website.

“La La La” is currently at No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100  while “We Are One” only spent three weeks on the same list before dropping in the ratings.
