Shakira and her beau, Gerard Pique, are enjoying a Caribbean beach vacation in paradise, before returning to work later in July, celebrity news site Starflash reported Tuesday.
After recently visiting Jerusalem, Greece and Italy, the sexy Colombian singer and her Spanish soccer player boyfriend apparently decided to take a few more days of relaxation to visit Anguilla, an island just shy of Puerto Rico.
According to media sources, the hot couple is staying in one of the island’s most luxurious villas, at the cost of around $3,400 a night, before returning to the “real” world, where Shakira will hold her next concert in Cancun, Mexico on July 15.
In other news, rumor has it that the Barranquilla native is nicely poised to take Jennifer Lopez’ post as a new “American Idol” judge if J.Lo decides to leave the popular American vocal talent competition to produce her own TV program with her hubby Marc Anthony, reported news site Lavozlibre.
The show’s producers are reportedly searching for a new person to occupy the bootylicious judge’s seat and have indicated interest in another Latina candidate. Shakira’s extreme popularity, both in terms of record sales and media interest, makes her a likely pick for the position.
