One dead, several injured in attacks on Neiva hotels

One person died and at least five people were injured in two attacks on hotels in the center
of Neiva in the south west of Colombia, several media reported Sunday
evening.

The first bomb exploded just before 11PM near the lobby of Hotel Plaza, located at the main park of the capital of the Huila department. One person got wounded.

The second bomb exploded less than ten minutes later in the Sulicam hotel, two blocks away from the Plaza. This explosion killed one and injured at least six people.

Authorities blame the FARC for the attacks, but according to Caracol common criminals have been active extorting money from businessmen and investors in the city the past few weeks.

Police offered a 50 million peso ( US$ 21 thousand) reward for information leading to the attackers.
