Sergio Luis Rodriguez new King of Vallenato

Up and coming accordion player Sergio Luis Rodriguez was crowned King of the Valledupar Vallenato Festival Sunday.

Rodriguez, native of the city that crowned him King of Vallenato, currently plays in the band of singer Peter Manjarres and earlier won the Vallenato Grammy 2009, while accomanying veteran singer Emiliano Zuleta Diaz.

Vallenato, especially the romantic version of it, is one of Colombia’s most popular music styles.
