Colombian defender Jhon Kennedy Hurtado has signed to play with Major League Soccer side Seattle Sounders FC.
Hurtado’s signing was announced on Wednesday,
although the player won’t join the team until the Sounders begin training
in Argentina on Feb. 25. The team says Hurtado’s signing won’t be
finalized until receipt of his P-1 work permit and International
Clearance.
Hurtado, 24, played the 2008 season for
Deportivo Cali where he was a teammate of Sounders’ forward Fredy
Montero, but most recently completed a trial with AC Milan in Italy. He
spent the 2007 season with Real Cartagena in Colombia and played 121
matches in the Colombian first division since 2004. (AP)
