Colombian President-elect Juan Manuel Santos and pop star Shakira met in London at the house of Colombian Ambassador Mauricio Rodriguez, and committed to work for “a Colombia that is educated and without hunger.”

During the one hour meeting Shakira talked to Santos about the social work she has undertaken through her charity organization Pies Descalzos.

At the end of the meeting the Colombian singer and the president-elect agreed to work together to improve the lives of children in Colombia through one of Shakira’s social programs, which will be named “an educated Colombia without hunger.”

“They spontaneously formed an alliance for an educated Colombia without hunger, both were very enthusiastic, they expressed their mutual admiration and appreciation and desire to give all the children in the country an opportunity for education,” Rodriguez.
