Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos will meet his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez in Caracas on October 29, Colombia’s Foreign Ministry confirms.
Santos will be accompanied by the Colombian ministers of defense, mining and trade, who will assist bilateral commissions in charge of improving relations between the two countries regarding sensitive topics like border security and trade.
According to Caracol Radio, it is expected that Colombia and Venezuela will fully restore relations that were broken by Chavez in July after Colombian accusations his government was harboring leftist guerrillas on its territory.
