Santa Marta’s Siren of the Sea contest begins

Twenty of Santa Marta’s most beautiful young women began competing to

taking place from July 29 until August 2.

At the introduction meeting, the girls — representing the different neighborhoods from the coastal city — learned about the sites of Santa Marta as well as the Magdalena department and received dancing lessons by the famous folklorist Ciro Olaya. They were also taught how to put on the perfect make-up and how to walk the walk on the catwalk.

The candidates will visit different parts of the city and cultural events where the models can start gathering votes for the contest.
