Independiente Santa Fe extended their lead in the Colombian Liga Postobon on Sunday, beating city rivals Millonarios 2-0.

The two arch rivals met for the second time in one week, the first meeting ending in a goalless draw.

This time around, things seemed to be heading the same way for a long time. But in the 75th minute, Venezuelan forward Luis Seijas finally broke the deadlock in Santa Fe’s favor. Late in extra time, Omar Perez added a second from the penalty spot.

Cucuta Deportivo hosted defending champions Junior, and ended up sharing the points after a 3-3 draw. Geovanni Garcia, Roberto Polo and Wilson Carpintero scored for the hosts, while Carlos Bacca, Giovanni Hernandez and Vladimir Fernandez found the target for the visiting side.

Deportes Quindio dropped to sixth place following a 4-2 defeat at Once Caldas. Elkin Murillo put Quindio in the lead in the 30th minute but Once reacted with goals from Diego Arias, Felix Micolta and Fernando Uribe, before Jhon Valoy pulled one back in the 75th minute. Shortly after, Dayro Moreno converted a penalty for a 4-2 final score.

La Equidad played away to Cortulua and initially took a comfortable lead with goals from Carlos Renteria and Camilo Ayala. But Cortulua did not give up as Carlos Terranova netted just before the break and Donald Millan got an equaliser seven minutes after half time, 2-2.

In the day’s other matches, Boyaca Chico beat Deportivo Cali 1-0 and Real Cartagena earned a 1-0 win over Deportivo Pereira.

On Saturday, second-placed Atletico Huila were held to a 2-2 draw by Atletico Nacional. The visitors took a 0-2 lead with goals from Segundo Ibarbo and Josimar Mosquera, before Huila restored the balance through Gonzalo Martinez (penalty, 81st) and Amilcar Henriquez (93rd).

Deportes Tolima, third, visited America de Cali and returned home empty-handed after a 66th-minute goal from Belmer Aguilar, 1-0.

In the day’s remaining match, Independiente Medellin and Envigado shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

With most teams having played ten games, currently on course for a spot in the next round are: Santa Fe, Atletico Huila, Deportes Tolima, Cucuta Deportivo, Atletico Nacional, Deportes Quindio, La Equidad and America de Cali.
