Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez, World Cup top scorer with six goals, is set to face his teammate Carlos Bacca from the national soccer team, when the European Super Cup between Sevilla and Real Madrid kicks off Tuesday afternoon, local media reports.

“They will both play,” said Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti of newly signed Rodriguez and Toni Kroos, thereby securing their first minutes wearing the white jersey, Blu Radio reported Tuesday.

Rodriguez made the move from Monaco to Real Madrid for around $108 million and is expected to prove his worth from the first blow of the whistle Tuesday.

Madrid hasn’t had the best preparation for the Super Cup, having failed to win any of the three matches they played at the friendly  International Champions Cup tournament in the USA.

But neither Bale, Ronaldo or Rodriguez were tested on the pitches in the USA. All are expected to start in tonight, showing they are ready for the new season.

On the other end of the pitch is Sevilla with Colombian striker Bacca. Last season he was the second highest scoring player on the Spanish team.

Opposite Real Madrid, Sevilla has performed well in pre-season matches and arrives at the Super Cup stadium with confidence. Bacca has already scored his first goal, but only played 45 minutes, making it uncertain whether he will start in Tuesday’s match.

Real Madrid has won eight out of two recent matches.

Colombian soccer star James Rodriguez joined Spanish giants Real Madrid in July, after months of speculation over the future of the leading goalscorer of the 2014 World Cup.
