Road accident in Huila kills 4

Four people were killed and eleven injured in a road accident in Huila on Monday when a bus overturned as it tried to avoid a horse that had walked onto the road, reported Colombian media.

Surviving passengers told Huila’s highway police that the bus driver had swerved to avoid the animal in its path, which resulted in the bus overturning and falling from a bridge into the River Sauza.

The bus was traveling between Florencia, in the department of Caqueta, and Pereira, in the department of Risaralda.

Police have identified the bodies of three of the passengers, whilst the fourth is as yet unidentified.
