River flood kills 5 in Cali

Five people died after a Cali river suddenly flooded, local media reported Monday.

The accident occurred Sunday in Choclona, a southern district of Cali. The five victims — four of whom minors — were bathing and playing in the water when the water lever of the river unexpectedly rose, washing away its victims.

Following the Cali drama, the National Colombian Scouts urged residents not to swim in rivers during the rainy season.
