Newly appointed president of Partido de la U, Luis Carlos Restrepo,
called on all coalition parties to fuse with his party and form one
“pluralist”, but “Uribista” movement for the 2010 elections.
Restrepo, talking to members of Partido de la U for the first time since accepting the presidency of the party, said “we are going to call everyone together so La U will be a pluralist party that wants to nest in the hearts of the citizens.”
According to La U’s new foreman, the party should integrate several sectors and movements that support the Democratic Security policy of the current administration, also left-leaning, but pro-Uribe movements.
“We are willing to open the possibility for other sectors to join the party under dignified conditions,” Restrepo said.
