Regulator authorizes new Bancolombia president

Colombia’s financial regulator has given the green light to Bancolombia’s new CEO, the bank announced Tuesday.

Carlos Yepes Jimenez was appointed as the bank’s new head in November. The choice has now been authorized by the government watchdog Superfinanciera, and Yepes will take up his new post on February 1.

Yepes replaces Jorge Londoño Saldarriaga, who resigned last year after 15 years as CEO.

Bancolombia is Colombia’s largest commercial bank.
