Regional FARC leader captured

Colombia’s Armed Forces say they arrested ‘Camilo Tuerto’, one of the FARC’s leaders in the eastern Arauca department.

According to authorities, the capture of ‘Tuerto’ is a serious setback to the guerrillas.

The captive belonged to the general staff of the 10th Front of the
Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, and also acted as
second in command for the Reinel Mendez Company of the same rebel
group, Neira said.

The army is involved in heavy withing with the Marxist guerrillas is Arauca and is seeking the capture of death of ‘Grannobles, a FARC comander and brother of secretariat member ‘Mono Jojoy’.
