Heavy rains that have hit Colombia over the past few months have left 81 people dead, and negatively affected over 850,000, according to RCN Radio.
Luz Amanda Pulido, director of Colombia’s disaster prevention office, said “unfortunately, we now have 81 dead, 159 injured, and 854,534 affected.”
Pulido added that the Social Services Ministry will pay for funeral services of those who perished in the recent landslide in Antioquia.
The rainy season began in March, and is expected to last until December.
This year’s rainy season has been particularly heavy, and has affected communities across Central and South America.
