Radamel Falcao again accused of lying about his age

Radamel Falcao

Colombian soccer star Radamel Falcao is being accused of lying about his real age. The striker on Wednesday called the accusations “ridiculous.”

The Colombian striker’s former high school, the San Pedro Claver school in the city of Bucaramanga, released documents in which Falcao’s birth date fell in 1988, making the striker two years older than he claims he is.

According to Falcao, his age is 27. His former school, however, claims the soccer star is 29.

On his Twitter account, Falcao called the news about his age “absolutely ridiculous.”

“I want to strongly deny this and end this once and for all,” the soccer star said.

Newspaper El Tiempo supported Falcao’s claims after having had insight into his birth certificate that confirmed the soccer star was born in the city of Santa Marta on February 10, 1986.

Colombia’s best soccer player has faced accusations of falsifying his birth date before; When the striker was still playing for Argentina’s River Plate, accusations about his alleged falsification of age almost impeded Falcao to take part in the U-20 World Cup in 2005.
