Daniela Calderon Novoa was chosen Tuesday to represent the coffee producing department of Quindio in Colombia’s national beauty pageant.
Newly crowned Ms. Quindio told local newspaper La Cronica del Quindio that “my sincerity and good preparation were the principal qualities allowing me to obtain the crown in this important competition. I am extremely proud to have won the crown, and it is a triumph for my municipality.”
In the coming weeks, she plans to “learn more about the coffee culture” of Quindio, as well as “work on her fitness.”
The beautiful “quimbayan” received international airplane tickets, $536, and a voucher for two cosmetic surgeries as prizes.
