‘FARC wanted to kill Bogotá mayor’

by Adriaan Alsema October 28, 2008

The FARC allegedly planned to kill Bogota mayor Samuel Moreno last year, but the plan was foiled by local authorities, newspaper El Espectador reported Tuesday.

According to information of a prosecutor, the FARC wanted to assassinate the Polo Democratico mayor just after his election last year, but before taking office.

Local authorities say they know nothing about a planned attack.
