“Cambio Radical and Liberal Party to merge”

Coalition party Cambio Radical and the opposition Liberal Party are
discussing a possible coalition between the two parties, prominent
members of the Liberal Party say.

Cambio Radical leader Germán Vargas Lleras, resigned from the Senate to focus more “on other things” has been preparing his possible candidacy and is currently on tour though Colombia to promote himself and see how much support he could receive for his presidential ambitions.

The former Liberal Party member has met with Liberal Party leader César Gaviria on several occasions over the past few months. According to people close to Vargas Lleras, the talks were not about a possible return to his former Party, but to discuss a possible coalition between the two parties, newspaper El Pais reported Tuesday.
