Colombia’s Prosecution will create a photo gallery on its website showing clothing found in mass graves to identify victims.
Each object found in mass graves – like clothing, watches, wallets – will be published in a photo gallery on the website of the Prosecution. Furthermore they will be presented in so-called recognition days in Bogota, Medellin and Barranquilla.
The Justice and Peace Unity has already met with families of 26 victims, showing them clothing and taking blood samples to identify the corpses with DNA, El Tiempo reported Tuesday.
According to official figures, only 572 out of 2164 bodies found in the last three years have been identified so far.
