Colombia’s Prosecutor General is investigating 21 of the country’s
current and former governors for alleged mismanagement of public money
or ties to paramilitary groups.
The majority of the former and current governors are investigated for financial mismanagement, like money diversion and decrees issued to authorize unnecessary expenses,
for example signing projects to improve infrastructure that never were carried
out.
A number of these governors also face investigations for alleged ties to paramilitary groups, El Espectador reported Monday.
