Union leader wanted for girlfriend’s murder: Report

The vice president of Colombia’s largest workers union is wanted for the murder of his girlfriend, W Radio reported Friday.

According to the radio station, a judge warranted the arrest of Hernan Correa Miranda, vice president of the CUT, for allegedly ordering the murder of his partner amid relationship troubles. The woman was murdered on February 7, 2007.

The gun used to kill Correa Miranda’s girlfriend was registered under the union leader’s name, prosecutors reportedly claimed.

Three people, the alleged killer and two alleged middlemen, already are in custody to face murder charges.
