Prince of Spain visits Colombia

The Spanish Prince Felipe and his wife Princess Letizia arrived in Bogota Tuesday. The Prince will attend the opening of the 5th International Congress for Victims of
Terrorism
in Medellin on Friday.

The heir to the Spanish crown arrived by a Spanish air force plane to Catam military airport in Bogota and was met by Colombian Foreign Minister Jaime Bermúdez. The Prince and Princess dined with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and his wife Tuesday night.

Wednesday they will be presented with keys to the city of Bogota and will visit the Mayor’s office, Congress and the Supreme Court of Justice.

Friday they will attend 5th International Congress for Victims of
Terrorism in Medellin, which will bring together 1000 victims of terrorism and 600 guests
from Spain, Northern Ireland, United States, Rwanda, Mexico, Chile,
Argentina and Colombia.

After a four day visit to Colombia the royal Spanish couple will fly from Medellin to El Salvador. This is the couple’s first visit to Colombia.
