Colombia news - Liga Postobon

Colombian Liga Postobon action continues this Saturday as Millonarios play their first match of the season while Cucuta Deportivo and Santa Fe attempt to remain on top.

Millonarios did not play last week, making the game with Deportivo Cali their first of the season. The Bogota outfit had a highly disappointing opening season this year and will aim to make up for that bad result in the months to come.

Cali have good memories from their last meeting with Millonarios, meeting the ‘Ambassadors’ 4-1 at home in February this year.

In Saturday’s other game, Envigado host Once Caldas. The Manizales side are one of six teams to have won their opening game last week, and another victory could leave them in first position depending on results in other matches.

On Sunday, Cucuta are set to visit Deportivo Pereira who themselves lost their opening game and need a victory to bounce back and restore confidence for the season.

The other joint leaders, Santa Fe of Bogota, face a potentially tough away game to America de Cali. Sides between these two teams are often won by the home side, and Santa Fe have not been able to beat America in Cali in recent years.

Defending champions Junior of Barranquilla travel to the capital city to meet with La Equidad in an attempt to maintain their perfect record after beating Pereira 2-1 last week.

In Sunday’s other games, Boyaca Chico visit Real Cartagena, Deportes Tolima receive Deportes Quindio and Cortulua host Atletico Huila.
