Preview: Liga Postobon week 13

by Jonathan Roorda October 8, 2010
916

The Colombian Liga Postobon is entering its final third, with Santa Fe and Deportes Tolima defending their spots at the top of the table.

The action starts on Friday when second-placed Deportes Tolima host Envigado. The Ibague side beat Real Cartagena 1-4 last week and hope to add another good result in this game. Envigado are currently at the bottom of the league and desperately need points in order to save some of their season.

On Saturday, leaders Santa Fe visit Deportes Quindio where the Bogota outfit traditionally have difficulties winning. In fact, all of the last three encounters played in Armenia were won by the home side.

Atletico Huila, currently third in the league, visit Junior on Sunday. Junior tend to dominate in home matches with Huila, beating the Neiva side in Barranquilla on all of the last seven occasions.

One of the most important clashes of the week is played later on Sunday when Deportivo Cali host America de Cali in a local derby. The ‘Cali Classic’ features two teams that are struggling to find their way into the top eight. Deportivo won the last two league meetings with America, and are again slight favorites to take the points in this encounter.
