Presidential human rights adviser investigated for sexual assault

The Prosecutor General’s Office opened an investigation into the director of the presidential program on human rights for his suspected involvement in a sexual assault case.

The investigation was opened following a complaint from a female colleague of the director, Tomas Ernesto Concha, who claimed that Concha sexually assaulted her on a number of occasions.

The complaint was filed on September 13 and relates to events that allegedly took place in 2010.  The victim claims that from December 2010 she was relentlessly harassed and sexually abused by the politician.

Concha has represented Colombia in various international tribunals, particularly in cases relating to the violation of fundamental human rights and the rights of minorities.
