President Santos discloses plans to expand Colombian air force

Colombia’s president Juan Manuel Santos said Colombia will buy more aircrafts to strengthen the country’s air force, local media reported Friday.

“We are considering purchasing weapons, aircrafts and drones to further strengthen the Colombian Air Force,” said Santos.

The government had already hinted that it was contemplating expanding the Air Force after reports surfaced that they were considering buying drones from Israel. Reports also emerged that the government was planning on building its own unmanned aircraft or ”drones” in a bid to combat guerrillas and drug traffickers.
