Santos announces new anti-corruption plan

President Santos promised Tuesday that he will produce “great results in the fight against corruption.”

The head of state confronted Colombia’s issues with organized crime and corruption by saying that “in less than a week [Santos] will present another major outcome of the fight against corruption. Many people will fall and the country will shake, but it will be positive because what we are confronting is what we want to correct.”

“We are going to fight corruption on all fronts, but we will focus on sectors that require more attention, such as infrastructure, royalties management, and the health and water sectors,” said Santos.

He explained that each of these sectors will have specific transparency programs that will not just be the responsibility of the state but also of their respective unions and the public.
