DAS wire tapping ‘stinks’: PG

Colombian Prosecutor General Mario Iguarán said that the DAS wire tapping case “omits a stench”.

Iguarán, who is personally leading the
investigation into illegal wiretapping by the secret service DAS
, was referring to the preliminary investigations into the case.

He said that preliminary investigations “cause dread for the stench that they let off” but that he will continue with investigations.

Iguarán personally assumed responsibility for the case, in which the phonecalls of more than 600 people were illegally intercepted by
Colombia’s intelligence service DAS
, after it became apparent that high government officials were implicated.
