Possibly contaminated chocolates seized

Local authorities in Bogotá seized 1,200 boxes of chocolates they think are contaminated with the harmful substance melamine.

The chocolates, seized at a Bogotá wholesale, contained milk that was imported from China. The chocolates were sent to a labaratory to find out if they indeed contain the harmful melamine.

Colombia closed the border for Chinese milk products after thousands of Chinese children got sick, because of the melamine.

Authorities are on high alert, because of Halloween, when Colombian children will be eating a lot of sweets and chocolates.
