Porn film shot in Cartagena…again

In what has become somewhat of a tradition for Colombia’s coastal region, an adult film shot at Cartagena’s historic Clock Tower was released on the Internet Wednesday.

This brings the count of known skin flicks produced in the region to three for 2012. Initial investigations point to the same production company being responsible for the slew of films.

“The administration has begun police deployment in order to avoid the making of these videos,” said Mauricio Betancourt, head of the city’s historic Caribe Norte district.

One of the movies, shot in a Puerto Colombia firehouse in May, located 56 miles from Cartagena, outraged local residents. The second nudey flick to come out was filmed in a Cartagena paintball club, unbeknownst to the club’s owner, who claimed the movie’s production team told him they were university students shooting a documentary.

In early June, another pornographic film was shot in the vacation destination, this time depicting a couple getting frisky in the city’s iconic Castillo de San Filipe, a historic fortress and prime tourist attraction located on the Pacific coast.

The recent rash of pornos were certainly inspired by the Secret Service sex scandal that rocked the country in April, ahead of President Barack Obama‘s arrival in Cartagena for the Summit of the Americas. The films’ narratives played off of the incident where a group Secret Service and military members were caught paying for prostitutes.
