Policemen abuse woman after she reported sexual abuse

Four Colombian policemen allegedly struck a young woman who reported a case of sexual abuse.

Apparently the woman sought the help of police in the northern department of Santander after a taxi driver tried to rape her on a highway to Bucaramanga. After the victim had escaped from the car, she encountered four policemen who she reported the incident to.

According to a friend of the victim, the policemen then searched the woman, which made her so angry that “in the midst of rage, she pushed one of the bikes of the policemen”. The policemen then started to beat the woman, said the friend.

The friend claims that she has “pictures and videos that show how the policemen assaulted the woman, pushed her against some bushes with thorns that were embedded in her back and then was beaten and insulted.”

The victim was taken to the forensic medical institute of Bucaramanga, where she was diagnosed with a psychological and physical disability as a result of the incident.

The young woman filed a complaint with a prosecutor in Bucaramanga.
