Police seized a 50 caliber rifle in the center of Cali, Sunday, reported El Pais.
The rifle, which has a range of 2,500 meters and is capable of taking down aircraft, was found along with an M-16 machine gun and a hundred 40mm grenades.
In a telephone interview, police said, “The weapons were part of a delivery that was found abandoned.” It’s believed weapons belonged to arms dealers who intended to sell them to the FARC.
It is not the first time heavy weaponry has been found in Cali. Last year authorities seized two 50 calibre rifles, alongside other weapons.
