Police seize 2.4 tons marijuana in Bogota

Police seized 2.4 tons of marijuana and arrested four people in the Bogota locality of Kennedy on Wednesday, in what authorities are saying is the largest ever cannabis haul in the Colombian capital.

Bogota transit police made the bust in the Britalia barrio where the marijuana was found hidden in several refrigerators, which had been transported by truck from the city of Palmira in the Valle department.

A haul of a similar size was seized in the central Colombian department of Risaralda in April, when Colombian police found 2.3 tons of marijuana and arrested two men on a farm in the Dos Quebradas municipality.
