Police: More than 4,000 street fights on New Year’s

Colombia’s national police said Monday that they responded to more than 4,000 street fights on New Year’s, but there were very few serious injuries, reports El Espectador.

Police director of public safety General Jose Roberto Leon said that “fortunately [the] number of fights [was] high [but] the outcomes were minimal.”

In most cases the aggressors had been drinking alcohol before the fight broke out.
