Colombian police have identified Domingo García Pérez, second in command of the ELN, as responsible for coordinating the escape of ELN leader ‘Pablito’ last week.

Authorities have announced that the Boundary Commission of the ELN is responsible for the jailbreak of Gustavo Anibal ‘Pablito’ Giraldo, reports newspaper El Espectador. ‘Pablito’ is charged with murder, rebellion, and terrorism, and allegedly bombed the Caño Limon – Coveñas oil pipeline 200 times.

Police intelligence reveals that Garcia Perez has served nearly twelve years in the guerrilla group, during which time he has served as a fighter, as middle management, and is currently coordinator of the Boundary Commission which is responsible for countless kidnappings and extortion attempts, and trafficks weapons, explosives and narcotics.

Authorities anticipate an intense sweep of all departments of Colombia to locate Garcia Perez. The National Government in coming hours will offer a multi-million peso reward in exchange for information to facilitate his capture.
