Police ends Bogotá hostage drama

Hostage taker Edgar Morales Paz demanded to be granted pension after, according to himself, having served forty years in the Colombian army. “I want my pension. They have kept me waiting for seven years and won’t hear me,” he told Bogotá TV station City TV who he had allowed access to the building.”I know they will throw me in jail when I get out of here. I didn’t want to do this. I want to leave this country and want to hear these things will never happen again,” he told the reporter desperately.Because the hostage taker was so eager to let reporters in, the police decided to send in some undercover officers as journalists. When one of the so called reporters was comforting the man with a hug, other undercover policemen were able to grab him and push him to the ground.None of the hostages were injured during the event.
