Police captured Diego Fernando Soto, alias ‘El Ruso’, an alleged commander of disbanded paramilitary group, the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC), W Radio reported Thursday.
‘El Ruso’ or “The Russian” is allegedly a former commander of the notorious AUC right-wing paramllitary group who ran their operations in the southwest department of Putumayo.
The suspect was apprehended in Matecana international airport, in the Colombian city of Pereira in the central coffee region of the country.
