Colombia news - Copa Mustang

Both games on the opening day of the group phase in the
Colombian Copa Mustang ended undecided. Junior drew 2-2 with Deportivo
Cali while Cúcuta and Envigado held each other to a 1-1 draw.

The action started at Barranquilla’s Metropolitan Stadium where Junior hosted Deportivo Cali.

The visiting side took the lead through Camilo Ayala in the 27th minute but Luis Yanez equalised for Junior in the 55th. Cali hoped to have secured the win when Pablo Batalla made it 1-2 20 minutes later but Carlos Bacca earned Junior an important point with five minutes to go.

In the other match, Envigado were on their way to victory at Cúcuta thanks to a 47th-minute goal from Jorge Serga but Roberto Gamarra allowed the home crowd to celebrate an equaliser at three minutes from the end.

Both sides had a player sent off as Cúcuta’s Luis Narvaez and Neider Morantes were handed red cards on 85 minutes.
