‘Plan Colombia and beyond’ blog closes

“Plan Colombia and Beyond,” a blog run by the Washington-based Center for International Policy (CIP), will close at the end of April.

Adam Isacson, who runs the blog for the U.S. organization, announced Wednesday that he is leaving CIP to work for the Washington Office on Latin America.

Isacson blamed the closure on “financial realities,” praising the staff and mission of CIP.

For those who still need their daily hit of his analysis, Isacson will continue to write for the “Just the Facts” blog on U.S. military and defense policy towards Latin America.

“Plan Colombia and Beyond” was set up in 2004, and aims to provide objective information on the country’s politics and relations with the U.S. The archives will remain online indefinitely.
